After working for the same PR agency for almost ten years, I was feeling ready for a change. I had grown my entire career from intern to Vice President, working across many different accounts and clients, and being immersed into many different situations. But, after working for a little over four years remotely, I was yearning for more person-to-person interactions and really wanted to feel more a part of the Denver and Colorado community that I had grown to love so much.
My sister, Kat, and I speak almost every day, sometimes multiple times. As she started to build her new career in Real Estate and Hospitality, after leaving Marriot after nearly 10 years, we started talking about the possibility of doing it together. At first, I couldn’t fathom it, but over time it started to feel more possible and like the right move for me to make.
I wouldn’t call myself a big risk taker, but at this point in my life I was starting to assess what my next move would be. Where do I see myself in five years? Ten years? And the more Kat and I spoke, the more I realized that I could make a big move for myself and my career. I was ready to utilize the communications and leadership skills I had developed working in Public Relations and transfer them into a career in Real Estate and build my own business, in partnership with my sister.
